Heavily netted and quite large, these melons are packed with ultra-sweet flavor, and are so aromatic that you will smell them before you even see them in the vegetable patch!
Aphrodite combines good disease resistance with native vigor to produce a robust vine that gets growing quickly and sets fruit a few days sooner than the early-season favorite Athena. These ribbed, oblong fruits measure about 8 by 7 inches (7 to 8 pounds each), and are packed with succulent, tender peachy-orange flesh around a small seed cavity. Absolutely spectacular!

Sow seeds directly in the garden after the soil is thoroughly warm or, for an even earlier harvest, start them indoors in pots. Set out transplanted seedlings 18 inches apart with 4 feet between each row, or plant seeds in hills 4 feet apart, with 2 to 3 plants per hill. Lilliput is ready to harvest when the stem slips easily from the fruit with slight pressure and the rind turns from greenish to yellow-tan. Pkt is 10 seeds.
