60 days. April Cross is the Daikon radish you want for big harvests of incomparably flavorful roots–these carrot-shaped winter radishes are crisp, mild, and subtly sweet! Maturing in just 2 months to an whopping 8 inches long and at least 3 inches in diameter, a single fruit is a meal! Try them steamed with onions or cheese, or in Asian cuisine. The fruit has smooth white flesh that keeps its color and texture over long-term storage.
Daikon, or Asian radishes, are root crops harvested in fall. Much longer-lasting than spring radishes, they can easily be stored over winter. If they are planted too early, they may flower instead of developing their vegetable root–they need colder weather and shorter days. Easy to grow–just direct-sow, thinning the seedlings to 1 to 2 inches apart as soon as they emerge. Pkt is 1/16-oz, or 75 seeds.
