Start seeds indoors 5 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Plant outdoors when danger of frost is past and night temperatures consistently remain above 55 degrees F. If an unexpected late frost is forecasted, protect young plants with plastic sheeting or other cover. Set plants 2 to 2 1/2 feet apart. Pkt is 30 seeds.

    I can only speak to flavor as I've had this variety before, and they're rich and flavorful. I haven't seeded my own tomatoes since childhood (I grew up on a produce farm), so I wasn't overly confident. I now live in a zone with a shorter growing season, and I decided to seed due to having a tough time getting good plants last year. The germination rate has been nearly 100 percent, and the seedlings are very healthy. They've been getting a lot of lighting to aid their growth, but good germination says a lot about seed quality.

    For the price and how many seeds you get, I thought this vendor was worth checking out. I am growing tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and potatoes in backyard soil so you can imagine I am using different amendments to be able to grow anything. I dug up carrots and replaced the soil in the ground with fresh compost and wood chips. Then I transplanted seedlings from these tomato Seeds. They are growing very well and have started producing bunches of good sized tomatoes. It depends on the source of your seeds if they are viable or not, but mine were and I have plenty for awhile.
