At last, a Pansy as tough as its Viola cousins! Park’s Whopper is an all-season, large-flowered, weather-resistant delight, with 5 bold colors and a “never say die” attitude that is destined to make them a garden classic!
These blooms reach up to 4 inches wide, with the largest flowers occurring in the coolest weather. The petals are much thicker than those of most other Pansies, which helps them to stand up to wind, rain, and chill. The stems are also more substantial, less likely to snap in an unseasonable gust. These flowers won’t be caught flopping!
Park’s Whopper reaches just 6 to 8 inches high and about 8 to 10 inches wide, but packs a lot of color into such a small package. The colors — all with distinctive black “faces” — are white, blue, purple, red, and yellow, in bold primary shades so that they really stand out. And you can put Whoppers into containers as easily as the sunny garden — they look great tumbling out of windowboxes or crowning flowerpots with bright color!
Many Pansies are happier in either spring or fall, but Park’s Whoppers flourish equally well in both cool seasons, lasting far into winter in warm climates and peeking at the first weeks of summer in cooler locales. For long-season, weather-tough, colorful beauty, you just can’t find a better Pansy anywhere!
Each color in this mix is also available separately: blue, purple, white, red, and yellow. Design your own color pattern or create a bright riot of shades!
This low-growing Pansy complements most spring blooming bulbs as well as annual and perennial plants. In fall, it makes a fine companion to Mums, Snapdragons, and Violas.
Like most Pansies, Park’s Whopper can be planted out in fall to winter over in mild climates, or set out in spring from sowing indoors. It thrives in sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Pkt is 25 seeds.
