Oh, what lovely flowers — and what an even better bargain! We’ve collected all five bicolors in the popular Floral Showers series and put them in a single seed packet! You’re going to love these brilliant mixed colors on dwarf plants that just keep blooming no matter what the weather chooses to do!
Floral Showers is a day-length neutral dwarf Snapdragon, so it blooms over a long season equally well in spring and fall. If you live in a warm climate, you can probably get these annuals to go through winter, too! Very vigorous and compact, the plants reach only 8 inches high, but they pack a ton of color onto every flowering shoot.
This mix contains the following bicolors:
Apricot: The flowers look apricot from a distance, and then when you get up close, you see that they are actually soft yellow with a light red. Beautiful!
Coral: Like Apricot above, there isn’t a trace of coral on the blooms — instead, it’s the color seen from a distance when you combine clear white with rich pink!
Lavender: One of the most beautiful blends, these blooms combine white with many soft shades of purple.
Red and Yellow: A bicolor that really looks bicolored even from a distance, this variety combines bright primary shades of yellow and red to beautiful effect!
White: What a misleading name! This bicolor combines pure white with a deep fuchsia shade of pink.
This mix is superb in any setting, but would make an especially striking edging along the driveway, foreground planting for the foundation, and container choice for patio and deck. You will love discovering all the Floral Showers colors, and it’s so nice to have compact plants that are bushy, colorful, and very full without needing support in case of heavy rain or wind.
If you have never “snapped” a Snapdragon, here is how to do it: You’ll notice that the blooms form two separate cupped clusters that meet in the middle, like jaws. Gently squeeze the sides of the jaws, and the two clusters will separate, just like a mouth opening. The space is just the right size for a child’s finger to poke into the dragon’s mouth. Release the bloom and the jaws “snap” closed!
Seeds may be direct-sown or started indoors for earlier blooms. Snaps are cool-season annuals that bloom in spring and fall in warm areas, summer in colder climates. In very warm locations they may winter over if mulched. They do best in full sun to light shade.
