Ten “faceless” colors of satiny richness held on short, flop-proof stems! Very tolerant of unseasonable heat and frosty chill, this mix is such an improvement over older Pansy varieties that it might almost be a new type.
The days of shy little nodding blooms, only gracing us with their presence for a few weeks in spring or fall, have definitely gone. Delta brings you bright, clear varieties boasting extra-large, extra-early, extra-tough blooms. Welcome to the future of the cool-season garden!
Each variety in this formula mix brings you jewel-toned petals (white, yellow, orange, red, lavender, purple, and blue shades). Fully 3 inches wide, the flowers sit on top of the foliage and face upward, so you don’t miss an iota of their bright color. Magnificent!
And Delta is mostly blooms, not foliage. The plants are just about 8 inches high and 8 to 10 inches wide, so they cover themselves with flowers. And the show starts early and finishes late, easily going into winter in mild climates. (In warm areas, it has been known to continue throughout winter and greet the spring Crocus!) Bred for improved heat and wind tolerance, Delta also stands up to frost very nicely.
This series is the result of very careful breeding, so that the plants are all the same size and flower at the same time. This makes Delta perfect for a pattern planting, and it’s a pleasure in containers as well as the annual bed. For cool-season color, there’s simply none to beat it!
Although it flowers early, Delta is not among the quick-to-pass Pansies. Whether it’s holding out in unseasonably warm springs or chilly falls, Delta is simply more robust than many other varieties, packed with weather-tough vigor. You’ll get a few extra weeks at the beginning and at the end of the season from Delta — not to mention great nonstop flowering in between!
