Unsurpassed for mass color in those hard-to-fill shady landscape spots, Shady Lady is one of American gardeners’ favorite Impatiens, and this unusual orange color always gets stares and double takes in our trial gardens. A little-known color in the Impatiens family, this persimmon-red or “blushed” orange is vibrant and long-lasting. These 2-inch blooms arise over a long season beginning in early summer and ending with frost. The 12- to 15-inch-tall plants are bushy and neat, needing neither pruning nor clean-up, and both the blossoms and their stems are weather-resistant and sturdy. Always reliable for solid coverage and plenty of ultra-bright color, Shady Lady earned our own High Performer stamp of approval, and we unreservedly give it our heartiest recommendation.
Shady Lady begins blooming in early summer and keeps coming all the way to frost, right through the worst excesses of summer weather. In southern areas, it has been known to overwinter. Also a fine houseplant, it is not too fussy about soil and is generally carefree and long-lasting! Pkt is 30 seeds.
