   I was very doubtful - but we wanted to try something different in the garden this year. I planted the seeds using the same trellis we use for cucumbers in early April (we are in Georgia, US). after our spring cucumbers died off, the loofah really took over. we had lots of flowers - but I didn't see anything happening. This week, I started to see bulges by the single flowers & now i have lots of them. largest so far is around the size of a sharpie marker, with lots of smaller ones coming into their own. Def a late season item - now to just wait and see how they grow and when to harvest. this was a surprise - but a good one. 5 stars for the seed quality

   Didn't do anything special at all - just threw it in the ground - no special dirt, just broke up the dirt with a shovel. One month later I have at least 20 plants growing, even in 95F heat!

   They germinated quickly in little seed starting pots with potting soil (no need for seed starting soil). I kept the moist and watered every day. I made sure to cover them with plastic wrap loosely. Just lay a piece over the seedling tray. I put 9 of them inside an old salad container. I kept them inside until the weather turned above 50 at night. Do not let them get below 50. I have repotted them as they grow into larger containers as they grow. Don't be alarmed that the leaves wilt duding the day. Try not to let them get direct sun when they are small seedlings unless they are starting to sprout and covered in plastic (keeps the soil warm and moist). I really hope we have gourde in the fall! I have some eyelet screws of which I will attach to the porch top and will run a piece of twine up so they can climb! Happy planting! Enjoy! You can grow plants even in small spaces, you just need a little sun and loving care.
