“Mega” is exactly that — these 3-inch blooms look like they’re under a magnifying glass! Beautiful rich pink with a hint of lavender combines with a soft white halo to create a stunning look that stands out even in 6-inch pots or a small planting at the feet of the mailbox.

Mega Bloom Pink Halo was awarded a 2017 All America Selection not only for its over-the-top flower size, but also for its superior tolerance of heat and humidity, without a speck of powdery mildew in evidence (even in rainy climates!). This is an annual that comes early and stays late, gracing the garden or flowerpot with color from spring through fall. The flowers will begin before summer in most areas, and continue right into autumn!

Just 13 to 15 inches high and no more than a foot wide, Mega Bloom creates an impact far more impressive than its compact size would suggest. Place just one or two in a combo tub for a carefree pop of color you will appreciate month after month, or design a small planting right in the vegetable garden, among your tomatoes and peppers. This pollinator magnet is great for the whole garden.

Starting the seed is easy: begin about 11 weeks before the last scheduled frost in your area. Pop the seeds into the Bio Dome with the dome on to increase the humidity level. The seeds will germinate super-quick — 3 to 5 days is standard when they’re kept at a temperature of 75 to 78 degrees F. Then grow them on, with the dome removed, at anywhere from 65 to 75 degrees. By the time they’re about 5 weeks old, they’ll need to be potted up. Keep them indoors under grow lights or in a sunny window for an additional 5 to 6 weeks, pinching them when they have 4 to 6 true leaves (to stimulate more side branching for a fuller, more flower-filled plant). Transplant into the full-sun garden or containers after all danger of frost is past.
