Harvest these tender, mild red mizuna leaves in just over 3 weeks! Non-bitter and non-spicy, this Japanese mustard is a superb baby vegetable that packs a lot of flavor into very little space and time!
Miz America offers richly colored burgundy-red leaves with elegant lobing and a substantial, flavor-packed bite. Delicious in mesclun, these leaves are succulent and mild, so young that they have no trace of bitterness. A gourmand’s delight!
And they are easy to harvest, repeating several times during the season. Miz America is prepared to set a generous crop every time — all you do is cut!
A cool-season crop, Mizuna should be started in early spring or late summer. It tolerates both heat and cold, extending the season nicely for both short- and long-growing climates. And if you harvest the leaves continuously, you’ll get “cut-and-come-again” production!
Sow seed outdoors in early spring or, for fall crops, 6 to 8 weeks before first fall frost. Space seedlings 1 to 2 inches apart in rows 15 inches apart. Pkt is 200 seeds.
